Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.19%

NEW DELHI:   The Nifty Pharma index closed on a negative note on Wednesday. India 10-year bond yield declined 0.40 per cent to 5.98 after trading in 5.98 -6.04 range Shares of Abbott India(up 2.17 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.66 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(up 1.02 per cent), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.71 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 0.66 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack. On the other hand, Aurobindo Pharma(down 2.5 per cent), Lupin(down 1.63 per cent), Gland Pharma(down 1.18 per cent), Alembic Pharmaceuticals(down 1.09 per cent) and Cipla(down 0.95 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day. The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.19 per cent down at 13745.6. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 172.95 points at 17498.25, while the BSE Sensex stood up 740.34 points at 58683.99. EDDAH: Concerns grew on Friday that the US planned to remove the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps from its blacklist of terrorist organizations as part of a revived nuclear deal with Iran. The IRGC has been subject to US sanctions since 2007 as part of the US Specially Designated Global Terrorist list, and in 2017 it became the first national military to be designated by the US as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.
